Overview And Highlights

Baglung kalika temple is also known as Baglung kalika Bhagwati temple, located south-east of the town of Baglung in western Nepal. It is situated on the southern bank of the kali Gandaki River. The temple is dedicated to goddess kali (consort of shiva) and considered to be one of the biggest forms of shakti. The temple is located inside the dense forest has four entrances in each direction and the temple is compounded by various other small temples dedicated to shiva, Radha krishna, lakshmi, Narayan and others.

Baglung kalika temple is visited by thousand of pilgrims, not only normal Hindu devocates but also Tantric all over the country and foreign countries as well. Furthermore, the marriage ceremony is conducted inside the temple with a belief of obtaining a happy married life. Traditionally animal sacrifice were practiced by devotes all the temple in the belief of fulfilment of their wishes but lately, in 2016 the sacrificing of pegeons was stopped and instead they are related from the ground of the temple. During the festival of Dashain on 9th day (Navaratri) the temple is crowded with devotes coming from every corner of Nepal to celebrate the festival there.

Visitors can go there through the flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara and from here it is about 2 and half an hour drive to the Baglung Bazar which takes about 8-9 hours. Though bus rides you can enjoy the beautiful views of the forests, river, hills and landscapes. The visitors also can book their own private vehicles to reach Baglung kalika temple.
